Less than 2 months away from Selection Sunday, figured it was time to start a thread. On Bracket Matrix, we're the top 4 seed. There are several really good bracketologists that have us on the 3 line. Way I see it, win the games we're supposed to and we're favored in, and we will end up in a good spot. As much as I dislike rooting for both of these teams, we really need Alabama and Nebraska to keep winning.

One of my favorite guys for bracketology to follow is Graham Doeren, and he has a metric he essentially made up on his own called "Elite wins" which is a win at home vs a top 3 seed, a neutral court win vs a top 5 seed, or on the road vs a top 7 seed. He was debating yesterday who should get the last 3 seed between us, Dayton, Baylor and Kentucky. He mentioned Dayton and CU are the two without an "elite" win.

Being able to beat one of UConn or Marquette at home will be huge. As of now, we have 7 Q1 games remaining.

UConn hate week has arrived.

2 seed up for grabs. Jays -1.5/-2. Jays got spanked in this game last year. Dixon seems to always give us fits.

Excited to announce that Bluejay Banter has teamed with Tom Brady’s newest venture Autograph. Autograph is a fan friendly site that allows fans to go to one spot to get content for their favorite team— in this case the Creighton Bluejays.

As a fan if you download the app you receive points for every time you go to the site. You the. Can use the points for different things including merchandise and tickets. Please go to the app for further explanations.

A couple of points. Most importantly they can not access any paywall info. So anything on the paywall will not appear there— including private info like recruiting news and practices reports and of course our active message board.So right now if you go on the site you will see a lot of WBR articles as it’s a non pay site. The content for BJB there will be all our podcasts plus any free info we post- which will probably be something like baseball stories etc.

To be honest I don’t know how this is going to go but figured there was no downside to more people seeing our product and more people seeing the BJB name.

We have limited product on the site now as this thing started about two weeks ago and as I was out of the country the communication issues were huge between us. But it should start to flow and I will monitor it.

Bluejay Banter Podcast episode 1/30/24.

Big game on Saturday! Hearing that Kolek might be out 3-4 weeks which could have huge implications for Saturday as well as the BE Tournament.

Huge game--in my book the biggest of the season-sans UConn. We need this win badly as it sets up Saturday. Late start has me worried about the crowd. We need everyone lubed up and loud tomorrow.

Just wanted to start a thread where we can put our thoughts on the GameDay experience/atmoshpere so that it does not take over other threads.

I personally do not think it is as bad as it is being made out to be. Do I think that it can improve 100%! Do I know how to do that no, the only thing that I know is that I can only control what I do. I sit in the lower bowl and I actually think our section is pretty good, it is a combination of every age group from people I have seen for years, to new people for certain games or new for the whole season.

I do agree that the DJ/in game music is just not getting it done. There are classic sporting event songs that can/should be played during time-outs, it doesn't matter if it is something that a certain football team plays, if it keeps the crowd locked in and energized...play it! I understand that there are all sorts of corporate sponsors but do we need something during every time-out, play something or show something that keeps the crowd engaged.

I also understand that nothing gets the crowd more alive than offense so when it is a Big East rock-fight, that definitely plays a role with the crowd engagement but there has to be something that can get the crowd going when the Jays are on defense.

Two final thoughts:

If there are people who tell fans to sit-down, that is just not right, those are definitely the people who are hindering the GameDay atmosphere.

The worst thing that I see are people leaving early, I have no idea why, the traffic is never that bad, maybe 5-10 minutes more if you stay.

Feels like a broken record but the Jays have another tough one. Providence is coming off an absolutely brutal performance against Villanova where they shot 29% from the field and 21% from 3. Hoping that shooting slump continues and the Jays can get off to a good start at a tough place to play.
