Question-Thoughts

Hey guys just wanted to get some "banter" going here as I was having this conversation with some friends.

This is not meant to be a slight on Pop at all, just excited with how the Jays are playing.

Are they better off without Pop?

I think offensively they definitely miss his scoring ability plus having another ball handler would be nice. However Neal sliding over to 2 seems like a much more comfortable position for him.
Pop also had the tendency to take "questionable" shots and was not a very good passer, especially into the post.

I think its pretty obvious that defensively they are better without Pop because in the BE and teams like SDSU, having two undersized guards is not ideal. If you look at their line-up besides Ashworth, we are actually a pretty good sized team especially on defense.

I know it seems like I maybe answering my own question but Pop is a good player, we will always have that Kansas game, so you will always take as many good players as you can. Obviously being able to give Ashworth some sort of rest would be massive.

2024-25 BJB show/podcasts

Today we officially kick off the season of shows and our coverage of the 2024-25 season. Lots of cool stuff still in the works but can share this much with you so far.

First BJB Monday show kicks off today live at 6pm. We will have the newest grad assistant and longtime friend of the show Jahenns Manigat on to discuss his journey after CU what he has seen with this years team so far. We will also update fall sports and introduce some new things as well.

We will have a new segment on a regular basis called Dumb Basketball questions. Now first the questions really aren't "dumb" but to players n coaches they probably seem like it. These are questions about the inside workings of the basketball team and program and everything that goes into it. It can be anything at all that you may have wondered about. It may be what the strength n conditioning looks like, nutrition questions, how much time do coaches spend at the facilities, what do road trips look like, what do halftimes in the locker room look like etc. It can also be game day production related- keep these on a factual level (in other words don't ask a question like why is the blue crew still there?) To give you an idea we are going to kick it off with this question tonight--How does the academic schedule work for a player so that it doesn't interfere with the basketball activities during the season and all of the logistics that go with it??

You send questions via DM here, DM us on twitter or send an email to Bluejaybanter@gmail.com. We will get to your questions in the order they are entered. We will only use first names when asking the question. We are opening this up to the general public via social media as well.

Second, we are giving fans the opportunities to come on during a segment, give their opinions and ask questions. I know no one likes to come out from behind the computer screen but this will be a lot of fun and give us a chance to interact with viewers. Prizes for appearances. Contact us if interested in the ways we listed above.

We are also going to get our bold predictions segment going again. If you have any predictions on anything related to Creighton hoops give it a shot. We will keep track thru the season and the winner will win a prize yet to be determined. It can be game related. the whole season, it can be team or individual related, we will also take predictions on Big East teams and college teams at large. again contact us as listed above.

Excited about the season of shows and hope you watch!

Seton Hall game thread-pink out

Jays take on another bottom feeder in the league. Great chance for a huge win margin and in turn giving a boost to our predictive metrics on our resume.
But more importantly a special day and a very important cause in the fight against cancer. This game is always circled as a must attend, and even more so this year as we have a women’s doubleheader with UConn after this game.

Didn’t know the best place to put this but I will add it here. There has been some big changes at Let It Fly in both the bar side management and the LIF media side personnel. Don’t want to get in the weeds here with everything that’s going on but you will see some changes with our postgame show. There is a new production team helping us with the show. Have confidence they will bring in the same production value but there may be a couple bumps in the road as they navigate/enhance the systems in place. The second major change is something you will see if you go to LIF after the games going forward. Our show will be broadcast live in the bar following the games. This is something many have asked for (including me) but for several reasons it never happened. It will also be aired in the west LIF location as well. I know a lot of people wanted to hear the player n coach interviews after home games and you will be able to hear these.
For those that view on YouTube we are in the process of making that way more interactive. If you remember the first year we did these via podcast we had a link available where you could jump on the podcast with us and give your thoughts n questions. We will be going to that model soon. Would love to say it will be Saturday but not sure that will happen that quickly

Finally looking to add a pregame component to this for home games at LIF. More to come.

Thanks for all the views and support and will keep you informed when more features are added

Enough is enough its time for Creighton/Fedor to sue the NCAA and get this in front of a judge. Example Vandy QB

Practice reports

Sept 27th

First official practice is tomorrow but the team went for about 2 1/2 hours today working on defensive ball screen coverages and transition defense. In every drill today communication was an emphasis to try and get all the new faces on the same page. Kaulkbrenner looked really dominant inside today, he was posting hard and finished with ease at the rim. Alex used his athleticism to run the floor in transition and got some easy buckets.

Official practice starts tomorrow with another practice on Wednesday. Next report will be on Wednesday

Other BE teams 24-25

Really enjoyed games last night despite the dreaded whip around coverage.

Ohhh, DePaul. Did the Holtmann era end before it even began? Demons still awful

SH - not great. They are really going to miss Richardson

SJU - rolled. Didn't get to see a lot of that game.

Butler - bizjack sat and I think he's one of their two best players. And cuonzo maybe recapturing his Springfield magic. They pulled it out, but it sure wasn't pretty.

Marquette - yeah. Kam Jones. Will challenge for league MVP

PC - that was one of bigger surprises to me. Expected more, but maybe the longer Cooley is gone the more they may regress. English was good last year and looks like a good recruiter. Will be watching PC closely.

X - another surprise struggle. Freemantle was good and the pickup from Indy St was really good.
