Mid Year Transfers

With the semester now over, this is when we generally hear about mid year transfers. While I admit I've probably paid less attention this year than in the past, it seems like we aren't hearing much about kids transferring mid year this season. Anyone agree or disagree?

I would expect us to be quite active in pursuing any mid year transfer candidates since we are sitting with available scholarships. Tim or Jeremy - any word?

January Recruiting

The coaching staff was able to get out on the road this weekend with the Friday night game. Coach Mac was in Florida and Coach Lusk was in Minnesota.

2019
Tristan Enaruna - Coach Mac was checking out the priority in Florida this weekend at Montverde Academy. Coming into this past weekend. Enaruna is averaging 10.8 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.5 SPG. Wasatch won on Thursday, but lost their first two games of the year on Friday and Sat. Enaruna was offered by Miami after seeing him on Thursday. Enaruna is now ranked #105 according to Rivals.

2020
Ben Carlson (East Ridge) - Creighton offer and has been on campus. #53 according to Rivals. Priority by many. Minnesota, Stanford, Wisconsin really want him and have put themselves in a good position early. Lots of competition for Ben.

Kerwin Walton (Hopkins) - 6'4" #114th in nation by Rivals. Offered by Creighton this past fall. Lots of Midwest schools involved, but still early in his recruitment.

Mason Madsen (Rochester Mayo) - 6'3 doesn't hold an offer from Creighton. Has some mid-major offers.

Gabe Madsen (Rochester Mayo) - 6'5" Brother of Mason, doesn't hold an offer from Creighton. Has a Marquette offer and is looked at as the better player of the two. Is more productive and has a little better size.

2021
Kendall Brown (East Ridge) - #25 by Rivals. Creighton offered during his unofficial visit this past fall. Also plays on the same team as Ben Carlson so we will see how involved the Jays stay throughout his recruitment. Again it is early as he is only a sophomore. If he stays in the top 25ish of rankings, it would be a tough get for the Jays.

Merry Christmas

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Beyond grateful to have all of you as members. While we always don't agree ( that would be boring) love having all the interaction with everyone.

As I was watching DRock notch another win tonight I thought back to how over the moon we all were when we joined the Big East. And while we have had some huge wins and now almost yawn when we see Ohio State on our schedule, I watched the joy of that Drake team winning that game tonight and it made me realize that it was a far simpler time/league. I think we all miss St Louis and probably miss being the big fish in the small pond.

Now look- so I'm clear- I love being in the Big East and love playing ranked teams on a regular basis. Awesome that we get to play at the World's most famous arena every year and that every game is on national TV. I don't know if we all truly understood that every year to be successful it would be such a grind and that even as we upgrade talent every year it means little as every other team upgrades too.

So I guess as this long story comes to an end and the prospect of a Big East season that might not be as as good as I thought I'm going to try and remember that even when things get bad that the alternative is to be thrilled beating Indiana State and to be excited winning the Vegas Classic. That when and if times get tough this year we still are in a great place and if we keep upgrading talent eventually that year will happen when it all comes together. And maybe being a little more positive might help too.

Merry Christmas

This is priceless. I think everybody gets it. Timmy might get his first win against Mac this year. If he doesn’t, it is cheating. Like the other 7 or 12 or whatever.

“The verdict meant schools associated with those men, primarily Adidas schools Louisville, Kansas and North Carolina State, were the victims of fraud. The prosecution concluded that “if the universities had known about the defendants’ secret payments, they would have never issued scholarships.” Other schools named in court included Creighton, Duke, North Carolina, Iowa State, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan State, LSU, Maryland, Xavier, Wichita State, Clemson, Notre Dame and Virginia, among others.”

God, we are are listed before Duke and North Carolina (but very carefully by the Omaha World Herald after Louisville, Kansas and North Carolina State based on the actual Dawkins, etc. verdict).

Gotta love these guys. Nebraska should stick to spin making the fanatics think that Scott Frost will make Nebraska football great again and leave the basketball they abdicated by disinterest 20 years ago to Creighton.

Tough shit that holy Nebraska football sucks and Creighton basketball is relevant.

Maybe there should be another Lawrence Phillips to kill somebody to make Tom Osborne seem compassionate.

Big East Media Days

We will have exclusive coverage of media days from New York tomorrow as we are the only media from Omaha that is here. I will try and grab as many coaches as possible, have an interview with Mac and talk to a lot of national media as well

I will be on Sharp and Benning tomorrow as well. Probably after 10am.

We will post all the interviews on here tomorrow night.
