Don’t know if anyone is watching this series on HBO about the beginning of the Magic era in LA but it’s fantastic. This came to mind as I was goofing around with who would play who in another thread. I get that if your under 40 you won’t understand but back in the day there were two regular season games you didn’t miss and that was LA n Boston. And hope like hell they would meet in the finals. And here’s the cool thing about it back then. Not matter who your favorite team was when it came to these two you were either a Laker or a Celtic fan. I lives in Montana and even there fans were split. It was epic

Another cool thing about the show is the number of famous people that became involved - for instance going to a high school and hiring a Dance leader for the Laker girls— it was Paula Abdul. The one that really took me for a loop was Spencer Haywood’s, girlfriend was Iman, who later married David Bowie. Just a cool show. I’m sure some is embellished but a great watch.

Still hearing the preseason/midnight madness type of event is still on for October 23 at 7pm. Have seen zero promotion for this yet and haven’t seen an announcement of any kind. Just put it in our radar.

IMO. Wondering if there is some kinda issue. Seems we would have heard something since it’s less than two weeks. Good source tells me it’s still on though.

Just turned 18. Perfect fit to come off the bench and backup Kalk. Nice to have someone like King who can do the above and still have around to grow into a larger role.

I have heard rumblings / rumors but since it was openly discussed on Sharp and Benning this morning I felt like it should be discussed. What is the relationship between Coach Mac and the new AD? Would Mac really retire or is he just making noise? Would he really leave to replace Coach Hoiberg in Lincoln?

Jays out to +10.5 on DK this AM. I think UConn can be ugly enough on offense to let teams hang around, but I'm not confident in Creighton being able to score vs another physical defense.

I feel like 6 in a row may be too much to ask.

But I do feel, for the most part, we have played pretty well in their gym and have shot the ball ok. They have been on a roll but as Mac said they have been off since Friday so hopefully they cooled off.

What’s everyone looking for in this game?

Who the hell knows where this thread takes us. The transfer portal and coaching carousel have already gone nuts and the season isn't even over.

1. I expect Bishop to be the only returning starter.
2. Are there any notable transfers from this year's roster? Stats tell us there multiple transfers per team.
3. Is there any turnover within the coaching staff?
4. Can the staff manage the roster to be good again next season? My expectation for next year used to be for the team to be in the bubble conversation. But with the off the court controversy, TyTy's decommitment, and the diminished rolls of AOC and Jones I just hope they can be respectable next year.

I'm sure this offseason will have lots of twists and turns. Mac and staff definitely have their work cut out for them.
