Don’t know if anyone is watching this series on HBO about the beginning of the Magic era in LA but it’s fantastic. This came to mind as I was goofing around with who would play who in another thread. I get that if your under 40 you won’t understand but back in the day there were two regular season games you didn’t miss and that was LA n Boston. And hope like hell they would meet in the finals. And here’s the cool thing about it back then. Not matter who your favorite team was when it came to these two you were either a Laker or a Celtic fan. I lives in Montana and even there fans were split. It was epic
Another cool thing about the show is the number of famous people that became involved - for instance going to a high school and hiring a Dance leader for the Laker girls— it was Paula Abdul. The one that really took me for a loop was Spencer Haywood’s, girlfriend was Iman, who later married David Bowie. Just a cool show. I’m sure some is embellished but a great watch.
