Since the 2017 Recruiting thread is getting a little long I figured we might as well start a thread for Tugs. He will be in Omaha Friday through Sunday and will be here with his parents. Tugs had a good time at his Arizona and NC State visits and now it is Creighton's turn. UCLA is out of the picture.

Just a reminder Tugs came for an unofficial last season and was at the Creighton Xavier game. Hopefully the UMKC game Friday has a decent atmosphere since it's the home opener.

I'm more confident in this game than most I have talked to here in KC. Mac seems confident he has a plan against the zone.

Should be another huge CU turnout. I think the 4000 estimate was way low. More like 6000 from what I could gather.

As we speculated Wednesday, Toby has a high ankle sprain. No fracture. 3-5 weeks. Could be ready for the start of BE play.

As much as we would like to red shirt Jacob, I think we are going to need him on Monday and Tuesday. If we don't see him then he's red shirting for sure, barring more injuries

Here is the first game thread of the year. Some things we have planned for Thursday:

1- We will have thoughts, comments and updates right here on this thread throughout the game for those that are out town and for those that cant attend.
2-Ravi and I will again this year do our postgame video where we give you our instant takes on the game courtside right after the buzzer sounds. If you follow BJB on twitter you can find the video there 10 minutes after the end of the game. You can also find it on Facebook and and shortened version on Instagram.
3-We will record the entire press conference and post after its conclusion
4-Although there is a radio broadcast there is no pre or postgame show. So we are going to conduct a postgame show on Facebook Live. Just pull up our Facebook page and you can view our postgame show live from the arena. You can comment or ask questions by posting on our Facebook page and we can answer them on the broadcast. The video will remain on the page so you can view it at a later time. We will go live about 20 minutes after the game.
We are using this as a trial and if this goes well we will use this vehicle do many more of these through the season and with other sports as well.
5-Once again we will have our tongue in cheek game previews. The Omaha preview is now posted on the front page.

Also once the games begin to be televised Ravi and I will do an X's and O's breakdown weekly on video where we take you inside the game and show you why plays work, and why they don't work. More to come on this.

We are excited about our coverage this season and hope you are too. We have added interns to help us to enhance the quality and quantity of our coverage. Enjoy the season and as always if you have any suggestions let us know.

From a recruiting perspective, we are in the process of gathering a ton of info on the next few seasons recruiting classess. We should have the info from the staff shortly and when we do Ravi will breakdown each class along with targets, offers and how we predict it all to shake out.

Hey, I wanted to float an idea out there and see what kind of interest there would be. I have a background in recruiting and player evaluation at the small college level. I was wondering if there would be any interest in having me do some reports either here on the boards or as premium articles. I would get a list of the 5-10 top prospects for 2018 and then go through their game film and do a scouting report on them basically. I could also do similar reports for the 2017 guys that are starting in the fall as part of my summer league coverage as well. Please share any thoughts or ideas and if you have any interest in this idea. Just trying to come up with some ideas to add value and content to our site. Thanks!

Quick update as Aussie big man and teammate of Brian Bowen's at La Lumiere, Jacob Epperson, will take an official visit to Creighton on February 28. He is headed to Toledo this weekend (dad is school's all-time leader in scoring & rebounding). Also working on official visit dates to Utah and Texas, he had told me. There was a lot of info on Twitter yesterday on the 2017 recruiting class as I believe 2017 recruits were able to be contacted starting Monday.

per @AnderewForce8, 2017 PG Jordan Poole will visit Creighton June 22nd.

On Bluejay Banter tonight we bid a sad farewell to Heath. We have a number of guests dropping by to say good bye. Tune in at 6 pm to hear Heath for the last time.

MVC officials are visiting Murray State today and Valpo tomorrow in efforts to fill their slot vacated by Wichita leaving. They also have Milwaukee and Omaha visits scheduled.

Curious if Omaha were to get in the Valley a) what the Valley would expect and b) would casual fans who went to St Louis to follow the Jays would head just because they enjoyed the experience.

Personally if I had the time I wouldn't mind going once in a great while. Just enjoyed the tourney so much and miss so many of the Valley/Valley media folks
