With mixed emotions that I have to tell you that that the Bluejay Banter radio show—in its current form— is coming to an end. Our contract expires at the end of the month and when that occurs our plan is to not renew. So we will have 3 shows left with the final show occurring on May 23rd at the Ameristar Sportsbook. Feel free to drop on by if you can.
This decision was not made hastily and I have spent the last four months reviewing everything from our finances to the medium that listeners hear our program. That coupled with some new opportunities have brought me to this decision.
Can’t thank everyone enough who has listened over the last 14 years. Big thank you to all our guests over the years as well as the many people who have helped us out at 1620
Now some big news. You may have noticed I said this is the end of BJB radio in its current form. The program will be continuing in podcast form beginning sometime in August. I think that will be good for most as our surveys show that’s how most listen to the show. But it won’t be your average podcast. Our “new” show will be broadcast live over You Tube with the ability to view at a later time. You will also have the ability to listen to our podcast in audio form just as you have in the past. I can 100% guarantee that these broadcasts will be professionally done. We are putting some money into this as well as hiring a producer.
We have reached an agreement with an establishment to broadcast our podcasts weekly. We also plan to do a live version of the postgame show as well. Much more on that later. An exciting part of this set up is we will be able to take the show and postgame show on the road to different locales. Again more on that later
But wait there is more, even bigger news. We are currently in negotiations with the same establishment to have even more content. This will be so good. You will even want to come to said establishment to watch it all live. Stay tuned. Sorry but until all the details get worked out I can’t share.
Again thanks so much for the support. And thanks to all our sponsors who have meant the world to us. Sad the radio part is over but so damn excited for the future. Come join us at Ameristar on the 23rd. Ross will buy you a beer. Any questions DM me. Thanks a bunch.
