Take your pick this week pits two former teammates up against each other: Terrell Taylor vs. Larry House. These two exciting players played the same position but brought different skill sets to the floor.
Larry House was a 6-foot-4, 205-pound guard/forward from Milwaukee. A junior college transfer, he started 31 of 32 games for the Jays in the 2001-02 season and scored 6.8 points per game. He shot 46 percent from the field, but he was only 3-of-18 from the 3-point line his junior year, which ended with an upset win over Florida - on a buzzer beater from Taylor, in fact - and a loss to Illinois in the NCAA Tournament.
It was House's senior season that made him a fan favorite. Creighton went 29-5 that year, and House started all 34 games. He raised his scoring average to 11.1 points per game while complementing All-American Kyle Korver, and he added 3.3 rebounds per game, up from 2.6 his junior year. House's accuracy increased significantly as well - he shot 75 percent from the free throw line his senior season compared to only 64 percent the year before. House also shot an impressive 51 percent from the field and improved his 3-point shooting percentage from 17 percent to 36 percent.

He played almost 17 minutes per game as a freshman during the 1999-2000 season, and he really flashed a lot of potential throughout the year - he averaged what ended up as career highs in steals (42), field goal percentage (51 percent), and 3-point percentage at (44 percent).
Taylor started 29 of the 32 games he played in during his sophomore year and averaged 25 minutes. Although his field goal shooting, free throwing shooting and 3-point shooting accuracy all dropped, he did raise his scoring average to 10.4 points per game, a sign of his being more involved on the offensive end.
Taylor's junior season would turn out to be his final season as a Bluejay, and he once again raised his scoring average, this time to 12.6 points per game, all while coming off the bench the entire year. He also hit one of the biggest shots in Creighton basketball history that season - his aforementioned 3-pointer to beat Florida in double overtime in the NCAA tournament. He never got the chance to go to his fourth NCAA Tournament in four years, however, as off-the-court problems led to his dismissal from the team prior to his senior season.
Both Taylor and House played huge roles on some of the best teams in Creighton history and were fan favorites in their time on the hilltop.
