Sorry this is late but as most weeks have been in 2017 this one has been crazy.
As promised here is a little info on the job we have available at Bluejay Banter. I'm not going to get into details, i.e. a full job description. That sort of thing will be handed out when we receive formal interest. This posting is just some brief, general information and a quick what we are looking for and what we are not looking for.
Of course we need someone who has a passion for Creighton sports, although if you weren't a hard core Jays fan but checked all the other boxes we would certainly consider you. Having some media experience of any kind, but especially writing is a plus. But again if you have none at all it won't disqualify you. (We remember when we started--we had no experience at all)
But one of the major things we are looking for is someone who, besides doing all of the media duties, is interested and willing to put on an marketing cap and expand both of our business models, radio and internet. Another thing we are looking for is someone with a fair amount of computer skills as we would like to enhance many of the things we currently do. Look, when we shake a tree of potential staffers a bunch fall out who want to do radio and talk CU hoops. Not many fall out with some of the other skills we will need.
Some things that we don't want are anyone who does not share our vision, consistently bashes our station, site and sponsors, consistently posts embarrassing items on social media.( we will handle these on a case by case basis--I'm sure most of us wish we could have some posts back). I think you get the drift. Again these aren't disqualifiers but I wanted to list these here.
