A couple of baseball notes:
1) Big East tourney will be at TDA park next year May 21-24. Hope Jays fans get out and support this thing--not only CU games but the whole tourney. If memory serves me right we had 8k for the final against WSU when the tourney was here last time. Would be great to see those numbers again.
2) Spencer Allen. There has been a discussion on the other board about this but thought I'd share some thoughts on the premium board as these should not be available to the general public.
The move certainly could have been solely money driven. I'm sure a Big Ten school can pony up a little more dough than CU. However as some have said if we really say we have a committment ot baseball then our assistants can't take lateral ( or downward) moves to schools because of money.
However I think this move was much more than money. Spencer has never made it a secret that he is not totally thrilled with Ed's style of play. He has said to me a couple of times that he would not bunt nearly as much and would play for the big inning more. This has been the one area that fans consistently do not like about Ed-playing for one run no matter the situation. I can't say for sure this is the reason Spencer left but I gotta believe its at least part of it.
One the other hand Spencer should have known Ed's style when he came here. So I can see both sides to this.
